Movement and Posture Restoration in East Hartford, CT
Your Body Forgets. We Remind It How.
Years at a desk, repetitive movement patterns, and a body that stopped getting the attention it needed add up. NorthPoint’s movement and posture restoration program starts with a full-body assessment of how you are carrying yourself — then builds a progressive plan to retrain alignment, mobility, and the movement quality that makes daily life and activity feel easier.

Stiffness and Poor Posture Are Costing You More Than You Know.
Posture That Breaks Down Under Daily Load
Poor posture is not just an aesthetic issue. It affects how your body distributes load, how you recover from activity, and how much discomfort you accumulate sitting, standing, and moving through the day.
Stiffness That Keeps Compounding Over Time
Stiffness that is not addressed tends to worsen. Restricted ranges of motion limit activity, alter movement patterns, and increase the likelihood that something else will eventually give way.
Movement That Feels Less Natural Than It Should
When movement that used to feel effortless starts requiring attention or causes discomfort, it means something has shifted. The longer it stays that way, the harder it becomes to change.
Assess. Retrain. Build the Foundation.
Most approaches to posture and mobility focus on isolated stretches or surface-level correction. NorthPoint evaluates how the whole body is moving and holding itself — then builds a retraining program that addresses alignment, stability, and movement efficiency from the ground up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about movement and posture restoration at NorthPoint Performance.
Do I need a specific injury to start?
No. Many people who come in for movement and posture restoration do not have a specific injury — they have stiffness, discomfort, or a sense that their body is not moving the way it should. That is enough of a reason to start an evaluation and build a plan around what we find.
Can PT actually help with posture?
Yes — and it goes further than telling you to stand up straighter. We assess how your whole body is moving and carrying itself, then retrain the patterns that are driving the postural breakdown. That is a different category from stretching, yoga, or generic correction cues.
How is this different from yoga or stretching on my own?
Stretching and yoga can improve mobility in isolation. What they cannot do is assess why your specific movement patterns have drifted, identify the compensation driving the problem, and build a progressive plan that addresses it at the structural level. That is what this program does.
Is this covered by insurance?
NorthPoint is an out-of-network provider. Clients pay directly, and we accept HSA and FSA. We provide superbills for clients who want to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance plan. No referral is required to get started.
How long does it take to see results?
It depends on how long the patterns have been in place and how your body responds to retraining. Most clients notice meaningful change in mobility and comfort within the first several sessions. The longer-term work of building strength and stability on top of that takes more time.
