Expert Back Pain Treatment in East Hartford, CT
Back Pain That Returns Has a Root Cause.
Back pain at its worst is rarely just a back problem — it is a loading, movement, or stability issue the back is responding to. At NorthPoint, every case starts with a full-body assessment to find where things have actually broken down, followed by individualized hands-on care and progressive programming built around what we find.

The Longer Back Pain Goes Unaddressed, the Harder It Gets to Fix.
Pain That Cycles Without Ever Fully Resolving
Back pain that repeatedly flares, partially calms, and flares again is a signal the underlying driver has not been identified. Managing it without addressing the source keeps you in the same cycle indefinitely.
Activity That Gets Smaller to Avoid the Trigger
When pain consistently limits what you can train, lift, or do comfortably, the natural response is to modify and avoid. That shrinkage in daily range compounds over time and rarely corrects on its own.
Treatments That Relieve Without Resolving
Many approaches to back pain address the symptomatic area — the tight spot, the sore muscle — without identifying what is creating the problem. Relief that does not last is a signal the root cause has not been found.
Find the Root Cause. Build the Solution.
Most approaches to back pain focus on the area that hurts. NorthPoint evaluates how the whole body is loading and moving — because where the pain lives is often not where the problem originates. The plan that follows is built around what the evaluation actually finds, not a standard back pain protocol.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about back pain treatment at NorthPoint Performance in East Hartford.
What does back pain treatment at NorthPoint involve?
Every case starts with a comprehensive movement evaluation — a full assessment of how you load, stabilize, and move, not just where it hurts. From that, we build an individualized plan using hands-on care, therapeutic exercise, and progressive loading designed to address the root cause and build results that hold.
How is this different from standard PT for back pain?
Most PT clinics are high-volume and protocol-driven. At NorthPoint, every session is one-on-one with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy from start to finish. The evaluation goes beyond the painful area to identify what is actually driving the problem — and the plan is built around what we find, not a standard protocol.
Can you help if I've already tried PT or chiro?
Yes. Many people who come in have already tried PT, chiropractic care, or other treatment without lasting results. The starting point is understanding what has been tried and what hasn't been fully addressed. Often prior care treated the symptom without identifying the mechanical driver — which is where we start.
Do I need a referral or diagnosis to get started?
No referral is needed. Connecticut allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can book without a doctor's order. Many people come in without a formal diagnosis — the evaluation is designed to identify what is causing the problem and what the plan needs to address.
Does NorthPoint accept insurance for back pain treatment?
NorthPoint is an out-of-network provider. Clients pay directly, and HSA and FSA are accepted. We provide superbills for clients who want to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We do not guarantee reimbursement — that is between you and your insurance plan.
